The American Scientific Affiliation (ASA) is a fellowship of men and women of science and disciplines that can relate to science who share a common fidelity to the Word of God and a commitment to integrity in the practice of science. ASA was founded in 1941 and has grown significantly since that time. The stated purpose of the ASA is "to investigate any area relating Christian faith and science" and "to make known the results of such investigations for comment and criticism by the Christian community and by the scientific community." Their site contains several on-line resources and an index of their journal Perspectives on Science and Christian Faith.

Dr. Michael D. Beaty is the principal investigator on a research project on Religion and Higher Education funded by Lilly Endowment, Inc. Dr. Larry Lyon, Professor of Sociology and Director of the Center for Community Research and Development, is co-investigator. Their research has focused primarily on Baylor University, though they have surveyed faculty at not only Baylor University but also the University of Notre Dame, Boston College, Samford University, and Georgetown Baptist College. The Association for Religion and Intellectual Life (ARIL) and its journal, Cross Currents, are organized in the belief that when the passions of the heart are brought into harmony with the life of the mind, religious faith can and shall contribute to the common good. ARIL / Cross Currents Online brings to the Internet the very best thought and writing being done from within the world's major faith traditions. In feature articles, book and movie reviews, poetry and music, they attempt to communicate a vision that encompasses humanity in its complexity as well as in its completeness. They also serve as a resource, encouraging people from differing traditions to gather both online and in real time for dialogue, reflection, and action that will enrich the lives of all. Their site features an online version of their magazine Cross Currents with a good selection of articles.

Christians in Science (CiS) is an organization that links together scientists who are committed Christians as well as those who are in some way professionally involved in the relationship between science and Christian belief (e.g. clergy who used to be scientists, those involved in science education, those simply interested in the science/faith interface, etc.). Its aims are to: (1) develop and promote clearly thought out Christian views on the nature, scope and limitations of science, and on the changing interactions between science and faith; (2) encourage Christians who are involved with science to maintain an active faith and to apply it in their professional lives; (3) to bring Christian thought on scientific issues into the public arena; (4) to communicate the gospel within the scientific community. Their site contains resources as well as current activities.

The Evangelical Environmental Network (EEN) is an informal group of individuals - including environmentalists, scientists, and theologians - who are concerned about caring for God's creation. It exists to encourage those involved to care about God's world in practical ways, using the Bible as a guide to develop 'stewardship' principles, and to act on these principles. The Society of Christian Philosophers was organized in 1978 to promote fellowship among Christian Philosophers and to stimulate study and discussion of issues which arise from their Christian and philosophical commitments. One of its chief aims is to go beyond the usual philosophy of religion sessions at the American Philosophical Association and to stimulate thinking about the nature and role of Christian commitment in philosophy. Their web site contains several resources, including an archive of the Society's quarterly newsletter.

This is an article about the struggles of integrating sacred and secular as it applies to a Jesuit scholar. In the article, the author, Vincent J. Duminuco, states that "Our own enthusiasm about the future may depend on how much we feel that the higher education institutions we now call "Jesuit" still retain their Jesuit identity. While some people in our institutions may care little about Jesuit ideals, many others do identify strongly with Jesuit education, and still more will want the university or college to retain its identity as a "Jesuit" school. But what do we mean by Jesuit education? To answer that, to establish Jesuit identity, we must link our work in education with the Ignatian spirituality that inspires it."
