Write More, Worry Less
|
Do
you want to write and publish more?
Would you like to be supported by a group of colleagues? Are you willing to commit to a program that works? (See Benefits of Participation ) |
This program helps you become more productive and find greater satisfaction in your professional life. You are encouraged to sign up ONLY if you are committed to full participation during Winter semester. Full participation includes the following:
1. Attend the "Publish and Flourish!" workshop in January 2010.
Tara Gray, PhD, faculty member, faculty developer, and director of the Teaching Academy at New Mexico State University, will lead this popular workshop for the 12th time at BYU. Dr. Gray has a great reputation for helping faculty members become more productive as writers. As a workshop leader, she is spirited and entertaining. (Tara's book, Publish & Flourish: Become a Prolific Scholar provides an overview of the workshop.)
Choose one of the following workshop options:
Complete Workshop (for new participants): 4-hours: Thursday January 21 OR Friday January 22 (8 am -12 noon)
Refresher Workshop (for returning participants): 2-hours: Thursday January 21 (3-5 pm) OR Friday Jan. 22 (2-4 pm)
2. Write daily (at least 15-30 minutes, five times per week throughout the semester).
3. Keep records of time spent writing (you'll receive a "Writing Log").
4. Attend regular one-hour meetings with a "team" of colleagues (of your choice) to share drafts of writing (dates/time decided by your team).
